BRINGING SMILES TO PEOPLE

At BG Dental Wellness and Cosmetic Center, we use the latest techniques and tools to provide our patients with the highest quality care. Our PRF therapy is a shining example of this commitment to innovative, holistic dentistry. By utilizing the patient's own blood in this procedure, we can provide targeted healing and regeneration with minimal risk of side effects. We are proud to be at the forefront of a new era of dental care focused on patient comfort and well-being.

Platelet-rich fibrin (or PRF therapy) is an advanced form of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy that harnesses the body's healing power by creating a highly concentrated source of healing factors and injecting it into damaged areas. PRF Therapy is widely used to accelerate healing and has proven valuable when used in conjunction with dental implant procedures, tooth extraction, and bone grafts. PRF therapy is used to reduce post-operative pain, promote tissue repair, reduce healing times, and contribute to faster tissue and bone regeneration.

In PRF therapy, the patient’s own blood is drawn out and spun rapidly, using very specific speeds and time protocols to result in a very high concentration of platelets. When this heavily concentrated portion of the blood is isolated, it contains three to five times the number of growth factors found in a normal same of blood! PRF therapy allows patients to take advantage of the body’s natural healing at a greatly accelerated rate.

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is used in many dental surgical procedures such as extractions and dental implants. PRF accelerates the healing process, decreases surgical pain and swelling for both dental implants and wisdom tooth extraction. PRF also improves the strength of bone’s direct structural and functional connection to implants.

How is a PRF Sample Made?

The PRF process is very simple. One vial of blood is drawn per surgical site immediately before your dental procedure; the same process as when blood is taken during a routine medical exam. The blood is then put into a centrifuge and Typically, the blood is spun in the centrifuge

for 12-18 minutes, but individual time may vary from patient to patient. As your blood samples are being spun down, they will separate into different segments and consistencies, forming a fibrin material known as PRF. The PRF layer is rich in fibrin, platelets and growth factors.

The use of Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF), protects the bony surgical site from infection, accelerates the healing process and decreases pain after a procedure. Platelet Rich Fibrin treatment is 100% natural without the use any additives or preservatives.

PRF is placed directly into the tooth extraction site and implant site. In the absence of the PRF, dental extractions sites are commonly left to heal open. When PRF is placed into the extraction site, the PRF protects the site from infection and enriches the area with proteins that accelerate the healing process. In sites where implants are placed, the PRF occupies the space between the extraction site and the dental implant. Placement of PRF in dental implant sites decreases the implant healing time as well as decreases the chance for a dental implant failure. PRF is a much better alternative to sending a tooth removal patient home with an unfilled bony extraction socket or implant site.

Benefits of Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) with Tooth Removal and Dental Implants

  • Decreased Swelling

  • Less Pain after Surgery

  • Accelerated Healing of Bone to Dental Implants

  • Improved Strength of Bone Integration to Dental Implants

  • Decreased Chance of Dry Socket after Tooth Extractions

  • Increased early blood supply to Tooth Extraction Socket
